[+]various authors, Who is Doctor Who? (BBC, 2005)., Rose [+]Russell T Davies, adapted from Rose (Russell T Davies), Target novelisations (Target Books, 2018).) (PROSE: Dummy Massacre [+]BBC webteam, Who is Doctor Who? (BBC, 2005).) Around a week later, he asked his readers if they had seen Rose Tyler after she went missing and if they had heard a "strange disembodied voice" over the weekend. (PROSE: The Doctor Was Involved in the Dummy Massacre [+]BBC webteam, Who is Doctor Who? (BBC, 2005).)

In early 2006, the webmaster wrote on the website that it was the support of his readers, with their belief in him, that kept him going amidst the false arrests by the police given their suspicion (PROSE: Rose sighting confirmed [+]BBC webteam, Who is Doctor Who? (BBC, 2005).) that he was responsible for Rose's disappearance. (TV: Aliens of London [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who series 1 (BBC One, 2005).) Following the crash of an alien spaceship in Central London, Mx asked his readers for their stories of the crash. (PROSE: Alien landing confirmed [+]BBC webteam, Who is Doctor Who? (BBC, 2005).) A day later, Mickey helped the Ninth Doctor defeat the Slitheen family, (TV: World War Three [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who series 1 (BBC One, 2005).) and on the following morning, Mickey wrote once again on his website, asking his readers for their stories, as well as giving them the passwords to the UNIT website, advising them to access the secure parts of the site sooner rather than later, as UNIT would inevitably change them. (PROSE: Hoax This! [+]BBC webteam, Who is Doctor Who? (BBC, 2005).)

In late 2006, Mickey told his readers to remember the truth about the alien attacks, the shop dummies and aliens invading London, until more news about the Guinevere probe was released on Christmas Day. (PROSE: Mars [+]BBC webteam, Who is Doctor Who? (BBC, 2005).)

(WC: Secret Code [+]Joseph Lidster, Defending the Earth! (BBC, 2006).) After going into a chatroom to speak with "ChatGuest1", the readers were sent across the Internet to find the correct code, going to websites belonging to International Electromatics, Cybus Industries, Cybus Fitness, Henrik & Son, and Millingdale. They eventually found the correct password, "binary9", after using the Cybus Industries Staff Intranet. (GAME: Cybus Spy [+]Joseph Lidster, Defending the Earth! (BBC, 2006).)

Behind the scenes[]

The identities of the readers of whoisdoctorwho.co.uk were often real world users who submitted fictional accounts of meeting the Doctor to the site, where the flash fiction was officially approved by the BBC, and released as parts of stories such as Have You Seen This Man?. After these readers had been established, later stories on the website, especially after its redesign to Defending the Earth!, were asked by Mickey to go on digital missions, which were often represented by web games.
