Ray Brooks (born 20 April 1939[1]) played David in the movie Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D.. He also voiced the third incarnation of Drax in the Big Finish audio story The Trouble with Drax.

He was also considered for the role of Orcini in Revelation of the Daleks. (TCH 41)

Career[]

Brooks' first major role was as Terry Mills on Taxi!, and around the same time, appeared as Norman Philips in eight episodes of soap Coronation Street. During the 60s, he also had guest roles on a number of cult shows like Danger Man, The Avengers and Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), as well as appearing in films such as H.M.S. Defiant, Play It Cool and Some People. He then gained fame for appearing in the 1965 film The Knack ...and How to Get It. His fame continued to 1966 when he appeared as one of the leads in Cathy Come Home, a groundbreaking episode of The Wednesday Play.

During the 70s, he appeared on Doomwatch and Softly, Softly: Taskforce, as well as appearing in the films Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, Carry On Abroad, The Flesh and Blood Show, Tiffany Jones and House of Whipcord. During the 80s, Brooks returned to fame for playing Robbie Box on Big Deal from 1984-86, and also appeared in an episode of Rumpole of the Bailey.

During the 90s, Brooks played Tom Hollingsworth in twenty episodes of Growing Pains, and also appeared in an episode of Woof!. From 2005-07, he appeared as Joe on EastEnders.
