Tardis

Ramsay was a member of a flock of vortisaurs encountered by the Eighth Doctor as they scavenged the hulk of a timeship. His efforts to drive them off resulted in them attacking him. He retreated in his TARDIS, inadvertently bringing along a vortisaur, to the airship designated R101 on 5 October 1930, the night of its crash outside Paris. He found out a vortisaur had followed him when it began to attack the crew.

The Doctor and Charlotte Pollard, a stowaway who should have died when the R101 crashed, escaped the crash on the vortisaur, bringing it into the TARDIS with them. Charley took a liking to it, naming it Ramsay after the British Prime Minister of her time. (AUDIO: Storm Warning) Being outside the Time Vortex proved unhealthy for it, as it was quick to develop an allergic reaction. The Doctor piloted the TARDIS to a market in the Garazone system to find a means of soothing Ramsay's allergies, allowing it to safely return to the Time Vortex. (AUDIO: Sword of Orion)

Despite Charley's best efforts, Ramsay was unable to adapt to life in the TARDIS. When she and the Doctor attempted to lure it into the Time Vortex, it fed on the time distortion produced by her averted death, causing the TARDIS to crash into Malebolgia upon its founding in 2003. (AUDIO: Minuet in Hell)

To free Charley from the Mara's control, the Doctor reminded her of escaping the crash of the R101 on Ramsay. (AUDIO: The Gloaming) Much later in her personal timeline, the mention of vortisaurs by Robert Buchan stirred her memories of Ramsay. (AUDIO: The Lamentation Cipher)
