Clarence (previously known as R-Vene, !C-Mel and Gabriel) was God's representative in Mutter's Spiral.
Biography[]
R-Vene[]
R-Vene was a Travelling Space Habitat. It murdered 200,000 sentient individuals when it destroyed Omicron 378 and asked to be disassembled after it developed combat psychosis following the death of two members of its crew. It was rebuilt and given a new identity as !C-Mel to help it recover from its trauma. (PROSE: The Also People)

God was able to salvage a small amount of !C-Mel's intelligence and placed it into a body force-grown from human cells which resembled an angel, (PROSE: Walking to Babylon) a form chosen to challenge the beliefs of anybody who might be influenced by the Ferutu. (PROSE: Where Angels Fear) Gabriel, as he was named, could not remember his past, but knew that the circumstances of his memory loss involved the Seventh Doctor. (PROSE: Walking to Babylon) Benny, upon meeting Gabriel, decided that "Clarence" suited him better.
Clarence was God's representative in the Milky Way as he hadn't registered as a member of the People, and therefore his presence as a monitor/spy did not break the Time Lord-People treaty. (PROSE: Ghost Devices)
Upon learning that God was summoning all of the People, Clarence asked Benny to go with him to the Worldsphere in anticipation of whatever was to come, but she declined. He joined B-Aaron in investigating Operation Ragnarok and was manipulated by God into going to Dellah to save Benny, which meant that he was no longer one of the People and could not return to the Worldsphere. He and B-Aaron rescued Benny, as well as Shemda, and Clarence told Benny everything that he had found about about the gods that were trapped beneath Dellah. (PROSE: Where Angels Fear)

Clarence gave Benny a holocube containing a recording of one of Edward Watkinson's lectures on God's instructions and informed her and Braxiatel that God believed that the two of them would be key players in the war to come. He joined the expedition to KS-159 and was told by the Oracle of the Lost that he was once !C-Mel, but that who he would become in the future would be more important. He looked out for Benny after her brain affliction was discovered and watched the J-Kibb as it crashed on Dellah with the Paracletes parasite isolated inside. (PROSE: Tears of the Oracle)
When Benny announced that she would be leaving the Braxiatel Collection to visit Virabilis, Clarence was, like Braxiatel, Jason and Cwej, afraid that she would enjoy her time away so much that she would not return. Clarence and Jason travelled to Virabilis ahead of her to ensure that her trip would be uneventful and tried to keep her safe after she was hired by Jericko Klench to recover Dorpfeld's Prism. When Jason and Rula Winther fell from a balcony, Clarence saved Jason and the Prism and was later tasked by Braxiatel with putting it away. (PROSE: The Joy Device)
Clarence agreed to help save Dellahan space from the Doomsday Probe and recover Teran Sevic from Dellah to help end the war on Vremnya. Unable to touch the transference node due to their allegiances, Clarence and Cwej went to find Sevic in Tashwari whilst Benny and Jason worked to transport the planet into the Ferutu's universe. He engaged Mor'yuchi in a swordfight and protected Palma Tabaa from the Ferutu, but they forced his body to regress to the !C-Mel before being destroyed, killing him. (PROSE: Twilight of the Gods)
