Pythagoras-858 was a member of the Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids and the Prefect of their Department of Problem-Solving.
In December 2020, a few days before Christmas, Pythagoras and his trusted second Juliet-178 were away from the Cupid Homeworld "on official business". This meant it fell to Carter-1277 to examine a mysterious gift in shimmering wrapping which, once he had opened it, turned out to contain Auteur's Abecedarium. Pythagoras-858 is a recurring character in the The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids, the series with which Auteur's Abecedarium [+]Jayce Black, The Crew of the Copper-Colored Cupids crossover fiction (Goblin Studios, 2020). was a crossover.
The introduction of Auteur's Abecedarium explained that it was an "interlude" to The Time of the Toymaker, the serialised story forming the bulk of 2020's Copper-Colored Cupids Calendar, being published between the eleventh and twelfth chapters. The reference to Pythagoras and Juliet's absence from the Homeworld confirmed both stories were also taking place simultaneously from an in-universe perspective. Additionally, the introduction promised that the story would prove Pythagoras-858 should never be allowed to leave the Crew without supervision for extended periods of time if he liked coming back to a Homeworld that was still in one piece.
