A psychosphere was a psychic layer surrounding every planet with life and an atmosphere. Psychospheres existed outside of spatial and temporal dimensions. They contained psychic fault lines held together in a mild telepathic field.
The Tenth Doctor described the Earth's psychosphere as a soup of thoughtstuff and supersensory activity just outside the human perception. He suggested that it could be called the collective unconscious. Some humans were dimly aware of the existence of the psychosphere.
Inhabitants of a psychosphere, such as Pranavores, were called psi-forms. Cerebravores were artificially created psychosphere predators.
