Project: Twilight was one of the Forge's first major projects. It was an attempt to win World War I by creating human-vampire hybrids. The official project goal was:

To create a super-soldier programme by fusing the DNA of a human subject with that of harvested vampire DNA recovered in South America. [src]

On 4 October 1915, a group of 57 test subjects, led by Amelia Doory and Reggie Mead, escaped from the Forge Alpha Facility, killing 20 Forge agents. Among those who died was William Abberton, the then current head of the Forge, however he survived beyond death by injecting himself with the twilight solution, turning himself into a vampire. He then spent the next century hunting down the escaped vampires and killing them. (AUDIO: Project: Twilight, PROSE: Project: Valhalla)
