They're back! 🔊 EXCLUSIVE CLIP: Madame Vastra, Jenny Flint, and Strax take delivery of a very special package...

Plot[]

In their home at 13 Paternoster Row, Vastra, Jenny, and Strax receive a large crate in the post. Bringing it into the parlour, Strax opens it up, leading Jenny to worry if she has missed an anniversary. Vastra reassures her that it is simply a new item for the house, leading Strax to speculate on its use.

Uncovering a metal tube, Jenny assembles the device which Strax assumes is for torture, but Vastra explains is simply a phonograph. He continues to ask what its offensive capabilities are, but upon being told it is mostly harmless, he relents and frustratedly queries what its point is. Vastra explains that it can record and play audio, believing it to be useful if they made a lasting verbal record of their adventures. Although Strax considers its sheer size to be unwieldy, Vastra assures him that future generations would benefit from learning of the alien threats they have had to face, and how they can be defeated.

Strax considers the possibility of "our adventures, chronicled for all time in the audio medium" and is still not convinced, worrying that "puny human ears" would find it far too stimulating...
