In politics, a political party was a group with the same ideology.

United Kingdom[]

Major[]

In the 17th and 18th century, Parliament was made up of the Tories and the Whigs. (PROSE: Newtons Sleep) The Tories were followers of the King while the Whigs opposed the divine right of the King and advocated for free trade. (PROSE: The Adventuress of Henrietta Street)

In the 20th century, Barbara Wright was a supporter of the Conservative Party but they were "not [her] side" as she was "not that bothered" with politics. (PROSE: Nothing at the End of the Lane) They were also known as "Tories" and existed in the 21st century. (PROSE: Head of State)

The Labour Party existed in the 20th (WC: Amy's History Hunt) and 21st century. (PROSE: Head of State)

Ian Chesterton was a supporter of the Liberal Party despite him saying "we never win". (PROSE: Nothing at the End of the Lane) Jeremy Thorpe was the leader of the Liberal Party. (PROSE: Rise of the Dominator) A Liberal coalition made of Liberals, disenfranchised Tories and Socialists, as well as minor fringe parties was elected (PROSE: The Devil Goblins from Neptune) and Jeremy Thorpe did become Prime Minister by 1973. Upon becoming Prime Minister of the United Kingdom as "Harold Saxon" with the Vote Saxon campaign, the Saxon Master accused the members of his Cabinet of abandoning their parties when they saw the vote swinging his way. (TV: The Sound of Drums)

Abraham Lincoln was a Whig congressman prior to 1858. (PROSE: Blood and Hope)

The Black Panthers were an American guerrilla group in the 1960s. (PROSE: Dead Romance, The Devil Goblins from Neptune)

By 2012, the opposing political parties were Republican and Democrat. (TV: Dalek)

The Libertarian and Green parties were minor Parties. They endorsed Matt Nelson, a Democratic Farm-Labor party senator who ran for President under the Radical Party. (PROSE: Head of State)

Austria[]

The Communist Party of Austria saved Dieter Allegro's parents flee the Anschluss during World War II. (PROSE: The Danger Men)

China[]

The Kuomintang overthrew the boy Emperor Pu Yi and took charge of China during the 1911 revolution.

Cuba[]

Germany[]

Spain[]

Parallel universes[]
