Actor Tosin Cole, who played Ryan Sinclair in Doctor Who, appeared in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as Bastian, a starfighter pilot for the Resistance.
Ryan's comment about Poe Dameron may have been a reference to the fact that he served as commanding officer to Cole's character in the film.[1]
