In February 1945, a V2 rocket hit Piccadilly. The affected area was evacuated and the Home Guard arrived to patrol it.
On 8 May 1945, VE Day, Winston Churchill travelled to Piccadilly to investigate electrical shortages caused by Visguard the bounty hunter. Much of the confrontation took place in the boarded-up restaurant. (AUDIO: Churchill Victorious)
