Phyllis Diller (1917-2012) was an American film and television actress of the 20th and early 21st centuries, primarily known for her comedic performances and for dressing outlandishly and not always in age-appropriate outfits. In the 1960s, she starred in an unsuccessful television situation comedy titled The Pruitts of Southampton. An incarnation of Iris Wildthyme was described as resembling Diller from this program.
