Password Report on Red Dalek was a 21 short story printed in TV Century 21 that contained elements from the Doctor Who universe.
Summary[]
Agent V. Mason of the Universal Secret Service writes in to Twenty One to report that they know the subject which the week's password refers to. Mason identifies the Red Dalek in question as Zeg and also provides a summary of Zeg's rise to power and his eventual defeat by the true Dalek Emperor.
Characters[]
Worldbuilding[]
- Zeg was working in the Dalek inventions factory trying to strengthen Dalekanium when "a thunderbolt" hit the factory, resulting in him being covered in the new metal and chemicals he was developing.
- Dalekanium is the metal used for the Dalek casing.
- Twenty One observes that Agent Mason is "obviously a keen follower" of the Daleks' story.
Story notes[]
- Although Agent Mason identifies Zeg as "the Red Dalek", even before he was struck by the Oquolloquox, that rank was not introduced until Eve of War. More accurately, Zeg was an ordinary War Machine Dalek who acquired a red casing and subsequently claimed to be the Emperor.
Continuity[]
- The new metal made Zeg invincible and he attempted to become the Dalek Emperor as a result by challenging the real Emperor to a duel. Zeg was ultimately destroyed by a jet of liquid air which froze and encased him. (COMIC: Duel of the Daleks)
