Paris was a city in New Mexico. When the Third Doctor set the TARDIS controls for Paris, France, he and Sarah Jane ended up in the middle of Arizona in 1880. They were soon almost run over by a wagon train bound for Paris. They barely had time to jump onto one of the wagon before the settlers were beset by Apaches. Making their way back to the TARDIS, whose doors had been left open, they discovered that the Apache's chief, War Eagle, had gotten inside. Realising that the Apache attack would be calmed by the disappearance of War Eagle, he took off for Paris, France with War Eagle still inside. The Doctor and Sarah thus never quite made it to Paris, New Mexico — but they did finally make it to Paris, France. (COMIC: Perils of Paris)
