The release mostly collected P.R.O.B.E. Case File shorts which had already been available for download on the BBV website. A Message From Sir Andrew, The Only Cure and Ex-President were original to the release, with the first featuring the debut of Simon Fisher-Becker as the hitherto oft-mentioned, but never seen, Sir Andrew. Out of the Shadows of Doubt was listed as an entry, but was actually a linked reissue of the earlier Arcbeatle PressP.R.O.B.E. webcasts Out of the Shadows and Shadows of Doubt with introductory texts acknowledging them as inspiration for, but not actual parts of, the P.R.O.B.E. Case Files series.
