Osterhagen Station 1. (TV: Journey's End)

The Osterhagen Stations were a set of a least five outposts located at various points across Earth as part of UNIT's Osterhagen Project. Made to utilise the Osterhagen Keys, a minimum of three Osterhagen Stations needed to be online to activate the Osterhagen Project, a set of twenty five strategically placed nuclear warheads that would rip the planet apart. For conference purposes, each Osterhagen Station possessed a screen which allowed for visual communications between each other.

Osterhagen Stations[]

Osterhagen Station 1 was located sixty miles outside of Nuremberg in Germany, Osterhagen Station 4 was located in Liberia and Osterhagen Station 5 was located in China. Another station was located in Argentina. (TV: Journey's End)

History[]

During the Dalek invasion in 2009, Martha Jones was given an Osterhagen Key by General Sanchez of UNIT. (TV: The Stolen Earth) Using a prototype Project Indigo device, Martha made her way to Germany. She manned Osterhagen Station 1 and contacted two UNIT soldiers, one Anna Zhou at Osterhagen Station 5, another a Liberian at Osterhagen Station 4 who refused to give his name. UNIT protocol stated that the keys should be used immediately upon the activation of any three stations, but Martha delayed their use to offer the Daleks a chance to surrender. Discovering that the Tenth Doctor had been captured, Martha attempted to blackmail the Daleks into releasing him, but the Daleks transmatted her to the Crucible before she could insert the key, disarming the system. (TV: Journey's End)
