Osaka

Osaka was a coastal city in Japan. The River Dojima and the River Okawa both ran through the city.

A number of festivals took place annually in Osaka, including the Tenjin Festival, the Cherry Blossom Festival, the Aizen Festival and the Midosuji Parade. The city had a subway system which included the Yotsubashi Line and the Midosuji Line. Minami was a district of Osaka. In 1977, Toshiko Sato and her parents moved from London to Osaka. (TV: Greeks Bearing Gifts [+]Toby Whithouse, Torchwood series 1 (BBC Three, 2006).) As a small child, Toshiko saw Osaka as a big and noisy city, full of people, buildings, flashing signs and subway trains. In 2020, the cloned reconnaissance scout hired workers to build a facility where it could clone more Daleks, disguised as an agricultural farm. Once the workers had finished building it, they were liquidised and fed to the new Daleks. In 2021, Leo Rugazzi, possessed by the clone, visited the facility, coming across Captain Jack Harkness and Yasmin Khan, sent by the Doctor to investigate, before he was killed by the Dalek.
