- The Second Doctor calls the Third Doctor a "dandy" and he responds by calling the Second Doctor a "tramp".
- The Fourth Doctor offers his other incarnations jelly babies.
- The Fifth Doctor asks if anyone is for cricket.
- In a BBC studio in 1985, the Sixth Doctor reads "Tune in for tomorrow's thrilling episode" from a script.
- Sir Guest states "I say again!" and the Brigadier echoes the response by stating "I say!".
- Michael Grade proclaims "Kill the Doctor!". This sentiment is perpetuated by Davros, and then further by the Mekon, who is actually referring to Professor Peabody or Doctor Blasco.
- Blasco is described as a "baddie".
- The Doctor's TARDIS, a police telephone box from AD 1963, is bigger on the inside while the Anastasia is smaller on the inside.
- Peri "evolved" from Digby, a thought that makes her shudder.
