Orbital missiles were weapons used by the Department to repel alien invasions. As their name suggests, they were intended to destroy spacecraft of alien invaders that entered orbit of Earth. When an Anubian spacecraft entered orbit, Inspector Drake ordered it destroyed with orbital missiles. June Turner protested, saying that it could be merely a meteor.
