Number 10 pays tribute to UNIT, prefixed as PRESS STATEMENT: Number 10 pays tribute to UNIT on the story's page, was a short story released on the U.N.I.T. website as part of the UNIT Press Briefings series of in-universe, narrative press briefings.

This story tied into the television story World War Three and was set concurrently with the short story, Number Ten.

Plot[]

In a press briefing embargoed until 08:00am on 26 May, filed by Corp C Powers, it's reported that acting Prime Minister Harriet Jones has paid tribute to the deceased experts from UNIT in the recent terrorist attack that destroyed 10 Downing Street.

Characters[]

References[]

  • Jones uses the expression that the lost UNIT staff could "smell a rat".

Notes[]

  • While never stated, the date of the embargoed press briefing, 26 May, seems to imply that the events of Aliens of London and World War Three take place on their respective air dates as opposed the date given in those stories - March. However, given the ambiguity of the setting, one could rationalise the discrepancy by imagining that the press briefing was simply embargoed for over a month.
