Norway

Norway was a country the Fourth Doctor once told Romana II was called the "Land of the Midnight Sun". According to him, the sun shone "all night there". (PROSE: A Midsummer's Nightmare) Dårlig Ulv Stranden was located on its west coast, some "fifty miles from Bergen". (TV: Doomsday) The Skaggerak Strait was located near the coast of Norway. (PROSE: Exodus Code)

Its main cities included Oslo, the capital (AUDIO: The Valley of Death, TV: The Seeds of Death) and Bergen. (TV: Doomsday) Norway shared it's western coast with the North Sea. (TV: The Lie of the Land)

Early history

Harald Hardrada was king of Norway in the 11th century. (TV: "The Watcher")

Norway gained independence in 1814. (COMIC: The Doctor and the Nurse)

20th century

Norway was briefly invaded by Capranom in December 1965. They were dealt with by the Tenth Doctor and Heather McCrimmon. (COMIC: The Goats of Christmas Past)

At the time of the attempted Luron invasion of Earth in 1979, Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart was on a fishing trip in Oslo. In his absence, General Reginald Hemmings was the acting commander of the British division of UNIT. (AUDIO: The Valley of Death)

On 21 January 1981, the Fourth Doctor, Romana II and K9 Mark II visited Norway. (COMIC: A Midsummer's Nightmare)

21st century

In 2001, the Sixth Doctor took Cassandra Schofield to Norway after she became a vampire. (AUDIO: Project: Twilight)

In 2004, the Sixth Doctor returned to Norway to give her a cure for her vampirism, only to find that she was now working for the Forge. (AUDIO: Project: Lazarus)

At 8:40AM GMT on a Wednesday in September 2009, Norway was among the numerous places across Earth in which RTAs occurred as a result of the 456 compelling every human child to suddenly stop and proclaim their message: "we are coming." (TV: Children of Earth: Day One)

In 2010, Jo Jones and her grandson Santiago Jones were due to take a hovercraft as transport to Norway. (TV: Death of the Doctor)

After being taken to the Minotaur's prison ship, Howie Spragg initially believed that he had been abducted to a government building in Norway, as he believed in a conspiracy that the United States operated several cities in the Norwegian mountains. Far future

At some point in the far future, group of Purzithroan Vagabonds stole seeds from the Terran Seed Vault in Norway. The Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond scared them away. (COMIC: Pirates of the Seven Seeds)
