Nicholas Smith (5 March 1934- 6 December 2015[1]) played Wells in the Doctor Who television story The Dalek Invasion of Earth. It was his first television role, and he decided to play Wells as a farmer with a West Country accent. (DOC: Future Memories)
He is well known for playing Mr Rumbold on the long-running British sitcom, Are You Being Served? and its sequel.
