Niamh's grandmother lived in Cardiff all her life. Niamh theorised that her nan knew about Torchwood, but didn't consider Niamh to be "Welsh enough" to know. When questioned, she told Niamh that the gas board was the organisation responsible for saving all their lives, for over a hundred years.
