New Germany was a country that existed in Europe (PROSE: The Time Traveller's Almanac) on Earth in the parallel universe called "Pete's World". John Lumic spent a significant part of his childhood in New Germany, and liked to fly his airship over its coasts even in adulthood, as a concession to nostalgia.
