Nel was the assistant to First Gyra and Second Gyra. She lost her job after breaking their legs by accident. The Ninth Doctor helped her when she had an Asthma attack. As part of the Doctor's plan she won the Zetacene with help from a setting on The Doctor's sonic screwdriver. She later went with The Rotter to find a food source to lure the Zetacene. She decided to travel with the Zetacene to protect it from poachers.
