A monster was present on Earth at the time of the Ice Age. When the First Doctor, Ian and Barbara arrived during this time period, the monster lifted up the TARDIS with its jaws. However, the hot breath from the beast thawed the previously frozen TARDIS controls, allowing for their getaway and leaving the monster confused as to where the TARDIS disappeared.
