Monastery

A monastery was a building or complex of buildings that housed monastics, whether monks or nuns.

In 1006, the Eighth Doctor and Tamsin Drew visited a monastery, the Abbey of Kells, in Ireland. (AUDIO: The Book of Kells)

In 1066, Template:Butterworth used an abandoned monastery near a Northumbrian village as his base. (TV: The Time Meddler)
