Mitsubishi A5M

The Mitsubishi A5M, also known as the Type 96, was a Japanese combat aircraft used by the Imperial Army Air Fleet while the imperial forces were engaged in China during World War II. It was armed with two machine guns but carried no bombs. The model sacrificed weapons for speed and manoeuvrability.

In August 1937, some A5Ms took part in a nuisance raid against a KMT troop train commandeered by the Fourth Doctor, Romana I, Woo and K9 in Shangdong province close to the front lines at Manchukuo. Although bullets strafed the train, no serious damage was caused. (PROSE: The Shadow of Weng-Chiang)
