The Mississippi River, (PROSE: The City of the Dead) also known as the Mississippi, was the longest river in North America. Given its length, people in the Old West did many things to occupy their time, such as romancing, fishing, talking and gambling. (COMIC: The Greatest Gamble [+]John Peel, DWM backup comic stories (Marvel Comics, 1981). Page 39.) According to Anji Kapoor, the Mississippi River was "America's major north-south commercial link", also noting that it was forced to empty at New Orleans instead of further west by a complicated series of levees. After shooting a man whom he suspected of cheating, the Celestial Toymaker challenged Gaylord to a private game in his cabin, but actually lead him to his Toyroom.
