Michael Cochrane (born 19 May 1947[1]) appeared in several Doctor Who stories, both on television and for Big Finish Productions.

He shared his memories of his Doctor Who career on the documentaries Double Trouble and Light in Dark Places.

He was previously considered for the roles of Persuasion in Four to Doomsday, (TCH 34) Roger Scobie, Andrew Bilton and Douglas Sheard in Time-Flight (TCH 35), Mykros in Timelash, King Yrcanos in Mindwarp and Group Captain Ian Gilmore in Remembrance of the Daleks. (TCH 44)

He is the younger brother of Martin Cochrane and the brother-in-law of Kate O'Mara and Adrienne Burgess.

Career Highlights[]

Away from Doctor Who, he is best known for playing the villainous Colonel Sir Henry Simmerson in the Sharpe series.
