The Menim were an ancient race, famed for their power of sight, with greater recognition and appreciation of colour and form than any other race.

The Menim had insect-like limbs on a reptilian body, with a long tail tipped with a poisonous spike. With narrow gills to the side of the neck, their speech incorporated a series of clicking sounds and their mouth was a series of moving parts.

For serious crimes, the Menim punished their criminals by removing their gift of sight by damaging their eyes. One criminal, Shas-Raklat, defiantly developed her sense of smell in order to compensate for her lack of sight. (TDL: The Colour of Darkness)
