Mechanisation was a term which Ashad used to refer to purging of the organic components of the Cybermen. As the Spy Master, this essentially made them robots. Following the far future Cyber-Wars, Ashad saw that an army of Cyber-Warriors had their organic components removed in order to "rise towards full automation, driven by the intelligence of the Cyberium. This was Ashad's ideal for the Cybermen, and he himself intended to "make the final ascension to full mechanisation", but was killed by the Master before he could do so. (TV: The Timeless Children)
