You may wish to consult Matt Jones (disambiguation) for other, similarly-named pages.

Matthew David Jones (born 5 August 1968[1]) is a British television writer and producer. He is sometimes credited as Matt Jones, other times as Matthew.

He got his start writing articles for Doctor Who Magazine in the 1990s, and went on to write DWU fiction for Virgin Books and Big Finish Productions.

Eventually, when the franchise returned to television, Matt Jones contributed three scripts to televised Doctor Who and Torchwood in the 2000s.

Jones had an idea for a story for The Sarah Jane Adventures in which Bannerman Road got invaded by Cybermen but it was vetoed by Russell T. Davies due to feeling the concept was too dark for a young audience.[2]
