Massoud was the leader of a group of Kurdish mercenaries in Turkey hired by Ace to get the barrel containing Vincent Wheaton. During negotiations with the group, she accidentally embarrassed him in front of his men when she tossed a grenade to him, frightening him. That night Massoud attempted to kill Ace for this insult by shooting her in her hotel bed, but she had anticipated this and used a decoy. The next day, she forced him at gunpoint to leave before the group embarked on their mission. After the mission was completed and Ace returned, Massoud tried to kill her again, forcing Ace to kill him with the laser from a broken Vickers helmet. (PROSE: Cat's Cradle: Warhead)
