Mary Wollstonecraft

Mary Wollstonecraft was a feminist writer who wrote A Vindication of the Rights of Woman (PROSE: The Clockwork Woman) in 1792. She also advocated against slavery and the monarchy.

She was honoured as "Cousin Mary" in the Liberté ritual of the Eleven-Day Empire's Feast of Fools. (PROSE: A Tour of the Capital)

Charlotte Brontë was a fan of Mary Wollstonecraft's writing, and lent one of her books to Ellen. Ellen's father described the book as "the work of the Devil". (COMIC: Unearthly Things)
