Marunianism was a popular religion in the 26th century.
Marunianism began when the Protestant church accepted all forms of technology. Marunia Lennox rejected this. He started a new religion which opposed all forms of science. Over time, the rules were loosened. Only genetic engineering, vivisection and experimentation for its own sake were considered wrong.
Marunianism's symbol was of a stylised hand, implying that God intended to humans to have four fingers and one thumb.
Maeve Ruthven was a Marunianist. (PROSE: Dry Pilgrimage)
