Martlak was a Fifth Axis researcher. He was assigned to the Braxiatel Collection to go through the artefacts, removing any non-human ones.
He was duped by Irving Braxiatel and Bev Tarrant, who managed to smuggle nine Ormand-Seltec flyers off-world before being discovered. Martlak was recalled by the Axis. (PROSE: Passing Storms)
