Martin Revere was a racketeer in Los Angeles in 1947. When Robert Chate came to him for help whilst being pursued by the authorities in October of that year, Revere tried to murder him. Instead, Chate accidentally shot and killed him. Chate then burned the body in hopes of covering up any evidence that would lead to him. His widow Rachel Revere blamed Leonard De Sande for his death.
