Magic beans, which, when planted, would instantly grow into a huge beanstalk strong enough to climb, were a part of the plot of at least one common panto.
As a result, a fake bag of "magic beans" was one of the props stored in the understage area of one theatre where the Thirteenth Doctor, Yasmin Khan and Dan Lewis came to see Cinderella. After the Doctor used a link from Spacebook in an effort to bring "the magic of pantomime" to the performance, the props and costumes were replaced with real versions, "snatched" from other places and realms. The Doctor used the magic beans to reach the Genie's magic lamp on a top shelf and use one of her three wishes to "wish" her friends safe, resulting in all the dangerous pantomime characters and artefacts being returned to whence they came. Behind the scenes[]
The magic beans originate in the real-world fairy tale Jack and the Beanstalk.
