Machasma was a planet which the First Doctor and the Master once visited together, back when they were friends. At one point in their adventure, they used sonic agitation to get themselves out of a tight spot.
The Eighth Doctor later referred to this adventure to indicate a plan to the War Master. (AUDIO: Darkness and Light)
