Lorton was a Karagulan. An orphan and brother to Bethin, he had run away when his grandfather was locked up by the Karagulans. Having contracted Sun fever he was unable to walk away with the children whom the Dreamspinner came to collect. He followed the Doctor to the Darksmiths' Dark Cathedral and fought off an attack by a Rock spool with his float-stone sling. He helped rescue his sister and the Tenth Doctor and returned the children to their families. (PROSE: The Colour of Darkness)
