Lorenzo Smitt was a companion of the Eighth Doctor, during the time that the Doctor spent one hundred years on Earth. (PROSE: The Gallifrey Chronicles)

Lorenzo met the Doctor in 1935, on a boat sailing across the oceans of Earth. He owned a violin, which he allowed the Doctor to play. The Doctor played the violin non-stop for nine hours, causing Lorenzo to become angry, and he took the violin back from him.

The Doctor later mentioned that he had died. (PROSE: The Year of Intelligent Tigers)
