Lords of the Galaxy was a short story published in The Dr Who Annual 1969. It featured the Second Doctor, Jamie McCrimmon and Victoria Waterfield.

Summary[]

to be added

Characters[]

Worldbuilding[]

  • The Doctor initially describes the reptilian species as "Saurians, like the ancient Earth dinosaurs". But he adopts the term as if it were the actual species name, and even Lord Haxtl refers to his species as Saurians.
  • Victoria fears they landed in World War Three, but the Doctor corrects her that they've landed in Interstellar War Ninety-Nine.

Saurians[]

Earth[]

  • The Doctor claims that they are representatives of mankind and from the Planet Earth.
  • This many thousands of years into the future, the planet Earth has developed invisibility technology, giving them the ability to hide their planet, then moves location and briefly appears and attacks the Saurian Empire in bursts.

Notes[]

  • The author of this story is unknown.

Continuity[]

  • In the opening, it's stated that the Doctor has never been able to accurately pilot the Tardis, a common theme on TV in the 60s. In previous annuals, however, there has always been some explanation as to why he hasn't been able to pilot the ship. For example in Peril in Mechanistria where his difficulties in piloting are attributed to damage caused in a hasty departure from Skaro, and in Terror on Tiro, he blames the hasty departure in The Sons of Grekk.
