London was a city in the Great Britain of Pete's World. Army blockades and nightly curfews, beginning at 10 PM, were in place for lower-income areas of London.

Government[]

Like with the London from the Doctor's universe, the London of this universe was also the base of the British government. (TV: The Age of Steel [+]Tom MacRae, Doctor Who series 2 (BBC One, 2006).) The President of Great Britain, and members of his government, attended Jackie Tyler's thirty-ninth birthday party in the city, (TV: Rise of the Cybermen [+]Tom MacRae, adapted from Spare Parts (Marc Platt), Doctor Who series 2 (BBC One, 2006).) where they were subsequently assassinated. Curfews were imposed by the government on the city for the lower-income areas of the city, which were enforced by military checkpoints. It was similar to London from the Doctor's universe, including parallel counterparts of landmarks such as Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, the Palace of Westminster, London City Hall and St Paul's Cathedral. Districts of London included Battersea, while boroughs included the London Borough of Southwark. The London Underground also existed and operated in this universe. (TV: Rise of the Cybermen [+]Tom MacRae, adapted from Spare Parts (Marc Platt), Doctor Who series 2 (BBC One, 2006).) Torchwood Tower, the headquarters of Torchwood, was also located there. (TV: Doomsday [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who series 2 (BBC One, 2006).) Pete and Jackie Tyler's mansion was also located somewhere in the city. (TV: The Age of Steel [+]Tom MacRae, Doctor Who series 2 (BBC One, 2006).) London also had a branch of Henrik & Son. (PROSE: The Bookstore)

History[]

The Doctor's TARDIS was catapulted into Pete's World after falling through a crack in reality while travelling through the Time Vortex. It landed in London, critically drained of energy. At this time, the first Cybermen were being created by Cybus Industries, with full-scale manufacturing taking place at Battersea Cyber-factory. (TV: Rise of the Cybermen [+]Tom MacRae, adapted from Spare Parts (Marc Platt), Doctor Who series 2 (BBC One, 2006).)

John Lumic activated the EarPod primary sequence across London. The city was sealed off and placed under martial law. The entire population, bar a few rebels, were taken to Battersea Cyber-factory to be converted. The Tenth Doctor, Rose Tyler and Mickey Smith, with the help of Pete Tyler and the Preachers, transmitted a code which cancelled out the emotional inhibitors of all Cybermen in London and blew up the factory in the process. (TV: The Age of Steel [+]Tom MacRae, Doctor Who series 2 (BBC One, 2006).)

Three years later, the Cybermen infiltrated Torchwood and travelled to the Doctor's universe. By that time, the breach between the universes had caused temperatures to rise and ice caps to melt, leading people to expect London to soon be flooded. The Tenth Doctor closed the breach, but at the cost of trapping Rose in Pete's World. (TV: Doomsday [+]Russell T Davies, Doctor Who series 2 (BBC One, 2006).)
