In 64 AD Italy, a lion attacked Lucius, a man who was caring for the villa (PROSE: Romans Cutaway) of Flavius Giscard. (TV: The Romans) As a consequence, the First Doctor and his companions were asked to look after the villa until Lucius' master returned. The lion then left the villa, encountering Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright. Ian killed the lion in self-defence, but felt awful about the act afterwards. The Doctor suspected that the lion must have escaped from an arena. (PROSE: Romans Cutaway)
