Kwantung Army Intelligence was the military intelligence section of the Kwantung Army, the branch of the Imperial Japanese Army in occupied Manchuria. Its headquarters was set up in Hsinking, appropriating a three-wing edifice rising five storeys high and modified the roof to give it the appearance of a Japanese castle.
After the outbreak of the Pacific War between China and Japan in 1937, Kwantung Army Intelligence monitored the early fighting at the front line in Shangdong province.
