Kristjan was the Chief Inspector of the Reykjavik police and father of Yrsa Kristjansdottir.
Every New Year's Eve he would read to Yrsa from a book about trolls and hidden folk. He believed in their existence and tried to convince Yrsa of this, but she would never believe him.
