Krattorians were a race of blue-skinned, humanoid slave traders.

History[]

In February 2065, a Krattorian ship commanded by Kest landed on Skaro in order to collect the vast fortune of sand on its surface. However, Kest's ship's instruments ran into difficulty because the sand had magnetic properties due to being a defensive measure for the hidden Dalek City, forcing Kest to give his slaves a rest. While on a stroll outside the ship, the slave Sala was captured by the Daleks and convinced by the Golden Emperor that he was sympathetic to the slaves' plight and wished to help overthrow her masters. Following a plan they had conceived together, Sala and fellow slave Astolith lured Kest and a couple of guards into the mountains, where Sala believed the Daleks were waiting. However, this was not the case and in Kest's absence the Daleks massacred the remaining Krattorian guards, imprisoned his slaves and stole his ship. When Kest discovered this and threatened Sala's life if the location of his ship was not revealed to him, she and Astolith fought back by forcing the guards off of the cliff where they stood to their deaths. Kest was also injured, albeit not fatally.

Kest later found his way into the Dalek City and bargained with the Daleks for the destruction of Sala and Astolith in return for the secrets of space travel. The Daleks were unable to locate the two missing slaves but this proved unnecesary as they found Andor, a slave who had previously betrayed Sala and Astolith to Kest, hiding elsewhere in the City, who gave the Daleks the knowledge they craved without any stipulations. At that moment, Kest's ship blasted off from Skaro, with Sala and Astolith having circled back to the ship and freed the other slaves in preparation for departure. Kest, Andor, and a few Daleks were caught in the resultant destruction. The deaths of the Krattorian and his slave were later confirmed to the Golden Emperor but the matter was of no consequence to him; Krattorian technology had given the Daleks the break-through they needed to conquer other planets and ultimately rule the Universe.
