This "eye patch lady" was a mysterious woman, discovered by Amy Pond, who appeared at the little girl's bedroom door at Graystark Hall Children's Home. She appeared through a hatch in the door which later on disappeared. Amy was startled by the woman and asked who she was, but the woman ignored her and replied, "No, I think she's just dreaming," to someone inside the room. Amy then found that there was no hatch in the door. When Amy entered, the room appeared to be empty, with no evidence of the woman. (DW: Day of the Moon)
Behind the scenes
- The character's appearance passes without explanation in Day of the Moon, and pre-publicity has indicated that Barber will appear in a future episode. This isn't the first time the series has introduced an unexplained element to be explained later, with the Bad Wolf meme being the first major use of this sort of storytelling device in 2005, followed by Rose Tyler's brief cameos in DW: The Poison Sky and Midnight being an example of a character making a "teaser" appearance.
