Kate Fisher

Kate Fisher was a singer at the Last Chance Saloon in Tombstone, Arizona and the girlfriend of Doc Holliday.

In October 1881, having learnt of the arrival of the Clantons in Tombstone, Kate tried to persuade Holliday not to fight them. She helped Doc disguise the First Doctor as himself. At the saloon, she pretended to the Clantons and Seth Harper that the Doctor was Holliday. She and Holliday left town when Wyatt Earp was "gunning" for Holliday.

They took Dodo Chaplet with them, but when Holliday had to return to Tombstone, he left Kate behind for safety. She ran into Johnny Ringo and pretended that Holliday had left her for Dodo.

After the gunfight at the O.K. Corral, Kate and Holliday left Tombstone together. (TV: The Gunfighters)

Behind the scenes

In the novelisation of the story, the character is named Kate Elder. In reality, "Big Nose Kate" was an alias, with Mary Cummings being her real name.
